Vinyl material is a versatile, durable, and moisture-resistant material used throughout in construction, automotive, and consumer goods. Whether you are wrapping a vehicle, branding a storefront, or outfitting a gallery, the material you choose determines the lifespan and look of your print. We use industry-leading films engineered for durability, colour vibrance, and ease of application. Although they sound the same, they have different intended uses.
1. Wall Vinyl
Wall vinyl is considered the “gentle” option. It contains a water-based adhesive designed to stick to smooth, painted surfaces without tearing the paint when it’s removed.
- The Finish: Usually, a matte finish to eliminate glare from interior lighting
- Typical Applications:
- Interior decor: Accent walls, wall murals
- Commercial branding/signage
- Temporary Presentations: Trade show booths, displays, social events
2. Regular Vinyl
This is the most common vinyl used in large-format printing. The strong film provides outdoor durability while maintaining a smooth graphic for smooth surfaces like glass to hard surfaces like brick walls.
- The Finish: Available in gloss for a high-shine appearance or matte finish for a smooth, dull appearance
- Application:
- Vehicle graphic
- Custom mugs
- Home decor/signage: Party signs, interior wall art
- Outdoor signage
- Organization labelling
- Small business products: Custom decals for retail products
3. Perforated Vinyl
This vinyl is physically punched with a pattern of tiny holes. The printable side is white, while the adhesive side is black, creating an optical illusion that allows you to see through the “back” of the graphic. It’s a one-way vision.
- The Finish: Glossy look for shiny appearance, matte look for reduced glare, clear/transparent look, UV-resistant to prevent fading.
- Application:
- Storefront windows
- Rear vehicle glass
- Transit advertising (buses and trains)
4. Clear Vinyl
This vinyl is a transparent, flexible PVC (polyvinyl chloride) film with an adhesive backing. Unlike standard white vinyl, it allows the base layer, usually glass or acrylic, to remain visible through the non-printed areas.
- The Finish: Ultra-clear to mimic the look of the glass it is applied to
- Can come in glossy or matte looks
- Application:
- Apparel
- Table cloths
- Vinyl stickers/decals
- Desk protection
5. Frosted Glass Vinyl
Unlike clear vinyl, frosted vinyl is designed to diffuse light. A translucent, textured film that mimics etched glass to provide privacy while still letting light pass through.
- The Finish: A silver-grey, translucent texture that provides “blurred” privacy.
- Application:
- Office privacy bands
- Conference room “distraction strips”
- Residential entryways
